RESPONSIBILITIES
The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development has the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the National Land Policy and the National Housing Development Policy;
- Managing Land Administration;
- Supervise the planning and development of towns and villages;
- Supervise and facilitate land surveying and map preparation;
- Land titling and facilitating the issuance of customary title deeds;
- Registering land titles, transactions and legal documents;
- Managing property valuation;
- To encourage and facilitate the construction of quality housing;
- Managing property development;
- Managing the resolution of land disputes;
- Managing the maintenance of land records;
- Managing the collection of revenue from Land Sector services; and
- Facilitate the preparation of land use plans and monitor their implementation
